Daily we are receiving requests for Aliyah Financial Aid from Jewish people in need. We are witnessing an increase of 900% over last year at this time. What a dramatic increase! Though the applicants’ funds are low, they have made up their mind to live in and defend their Jewish homeland. The Lord is stirring their hearts to return. Prophecy is being fulfilled!

Dear Friends,

For most of us, the Holocaust is a history which involved other people, in another time, and another country. But, for many of the Jewish people Ebenezer helps, it is the story of their own family, impacting their present life and their personal decision to make aliyah:

I am a second generation American - three out of four of my grandparents are Holocaust survivors. – Elie, 28

As a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, I grew up knowing the importance of a Jewish homeland and feeling a responsibility to protect it. – Adi, 18

My grandparents are Holocaust survivors who lost almost all their family members in Auschwitz. – Name confidential, 19

While they were transferred to death camp, my grandfather’s mother pushed him from the train track, and his father's last words to him were: "We are Jews, we belong in Israel. If you ever survive this war, try to get to the land of Israel." – Alon, 18

My grandparents met in Israel after the Holocaust. They are proud that I am fulfilling my dream of moving to Israel. – Becky, 25

My grandfather was a Holocaust survivor, whose entire family was massacred during the Holocaust. I promised him that I would make aliyah. – Gabriel, 30

God is calling us to help His Jewish people return to the Land He promised to them forever.

Summer of 2012

Young Adult’s trip to Israel, July 16th – July 30th.

You are invited to join young adults from around the world for an action packed trip to Israel. This will be an adventure of a lifetime, a journey of discovery of what God has to say about the Jewish people, the Land of Israel and the role of the Church. This is our fourth year of operating these trips. The tour is designed to give a fresh perspective of Israel, different from anything you may see in the media.

For more information on how you can join Ebenezer’s young adults program, please call us at the Lancaster office, 716-681-6300, 9:00AM-5:00PM EST, Monday through Friday or visit the site by clicking here.

Engage is Ebenezer’s international young adults program and vision for the future. Through this we plan to reach out to young Christians all over the world, offering them a variety of programs and opportunities to serve the Jewish people in various ways. Our aim, over time, is to broaden the scope of the program and we plan to establish contact points in each nation through the appointment of ‘Engage’ co-coordinators who will work with, and alongside, our National Coordinators.

Our aim is to broaden the scope of engage-Israel and our newly established Engage program is the next phase in this very important strategic development. We want to invest in the young leaders of tomorrow and we are working to develop an extended leadership training program. This project has the full support of the international leadership team and is under the oversight of EEFI Director Roger Wolcott.

The Engage project is closely linked with the work that Andy Ernst has been doing with our young leadership team and is an essential step of preparation in releasing the new generation of leaders to assume the mantle of responsibility in their countries.

As we see when we read in 1 Kings 20:13-15, the Lord desires to raise up and use these young leaders ‘…Thus says the LORD: “Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am the LORD.’” So Ahab said, “By whom?” And he said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘By the young leaders of the provinces.’” Then he said, “Who will set the battle in order?” And he answered, “You.” Then he mustered the young leaders of the provinces…’ (NKJV).

Ebenezer wants to invest spiritually and educationally in the young leaders of tomorrow, so the ministry is working to develop an extended and variety of leadership training programs which will include the opportunity for short-term service and training.

“Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” Psalm 71:16-18

The time to engage the youth in helping the Jewish people return to Israel from all over the world is now! Please help us declare His power to the next generation.

Is history repeating itself? On the day after the 73rd anniversary of Kristallnacht in a Brooklyn Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, containing one of the largest concentrations of Holocaust survivors outside Israel, the virulent fist of anti-Semitism came crashing down once again. Vandals torched cars and scrawled Nazi swatikas and anti-Semitic messages on park benches and sidewalks.

November, 1938 more than 1,000 synagogues were ransacked and burned throughout Germany

On the nights of Nov. 9 & 10, 1938, rampaging mobs throughout Germany freely attacked Jews in the streets, in their homes, and at their places of work and worship. At least 96 Jews were killed and hundreds more injured. More than 1,000 synagogues were ransacked and burned, and 7,500 Jewish businesses were destroyed. Cemeteries and schools were vandalized, and 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps.

These sickening dimensions of anti-Semitism are to be strongly condemned. Ebenezer Operation Exodus, a Christian ministry assisting Jewish people return to Israel, stands with the Jewish community of Brooklyn and urges all citizens to stand against intolerance and anti-Semitism wherever it may manifest its vile presence and to be ready to help Jewish people.

At a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise in our country and throughout the world, the Judeo-Christian community must be awake, prepared, and engaged in the battle against all expressions of anti-Semitic attitudes and actions. Please join us in this stand against anti-Semitism.

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say this … those He gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. (Psalm 107:1-3)

We give thanks!! In 2011, Ebenezer has assisted aliyah from the USA above and beyond our expectations, helping 186 American Jews to return to the Land that was given to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, forever.

They give thanks!!

Steven & Susan:

We believe that Israel is the land that was given to us by G-d, and we decided that the time has come to do the right thing, and make aliyah. The Talmud says that one “can only acquire the Land of Israel through difficulties.” After going through the process, we understand that statement, but we decided that these difficulties should not stand in the way of doing the right thing. Thank you for all of your efforts on our behalf. We appreciate everything and wish you all the best.

Nathan and Monica:

We long to fulfill our dreams of living in the Holy Land of Israel and being part of the prophetic moving where our G-d will cause us to return to our land. We are very thankful for the opportunity that G-d has granted us to live in the Land and develop faith, the greatest commodity a human being can have. We truly appreciate your assistance in making our lifelong dream a reality. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

“Zach”:
My grandparents were Holocaust survivors. When my grandfather was pushed from the train track by his mother, while they all were transferred to death camp, he remembered his father’s last words to him: “We are Jews, we belong in Israel. If you ever survive this war, try to get to the land of Israel.” My heart and my place are in Israel. Now that I’m 18, I decided to make aliyah, join the Israeli Defense forces and return to the land of my ancestors. Thank you for helping me accomplish my goal.

—————————————————-

On behalf of Ebenezer USA, we say “Thank you!” for your support which makes it possible to carry home the sons and daughters of Israel in loving arms, as God has called us to do (Isaiah 49:22).

These Jewish people live in Jerusalem and Haifa and when I asked the leaders of their communities which kind of food we could bless them with, they said Teff. Teff is a fine grain, about the size of poppy seed that comes in colors ranging from white and red to dark brown. It is their staple food for it grows predominantly in Ethiopia and Eritrea. With these community leaders we started to look for someone who can provide us with 20 kg bags of Teff — 10 bags each month. Praise the Lord we found someone who can import them from Ethiopia!

I was amazed that these needy olim would be satisfied with just one kind of food a month, so I asked if there was something we could give them as well. I was told that if they have Teff in their house they don’t need anything else — it was comfort enough! One 20 kg bag can provide a family of four with enough food for 6– 8 weeks. We have been able to assist some very needy families with this food as they continue to adjust to life in their true homeland which is often a struggle. One of the leaders called to tell me that there are no words to express the thanks of the families who received the blessing of this food.

The decision to make aliyah is loaded with all kinds of questions. ‘Will I fit into life in Israel?’ ‘Can I learn the language?’ For Ethiopian families one of the toughest questions is ‘What shall we have in our homes to eat?’ As they settle into a new life in Israel, having Teff to eat is a big help to them.

GOD’S LOVE DRAWS THEM HOME!

Children enjoy opening their food parcel!

“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:15–17

This year we are celebrating 16 years of humanitarian aid ministry. The first consignment of aid arrived in Ukraine from the UK in February 1996. It was a great blessing as we visited Jewish communities with clothes, shoes, bedding and other needed things. It was not easy to visit Jewish people and tell them that we Christians love them, as many would ask, ‘How do we know that you love us?’ It made a huge difference when we expressed our love in action by giving them what they were in need of.

Humanitarian Aid became a key which opened doors into many Jewish communities in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus because many people were unemployed or pensioners and couldn’t — and still can’t —afford to buy the new things we were giving them.

There are wonderful testimonies from our Yekaterinburg and Rostov bases about how local Jewish community and charity leaders have changed their attitude towards Ebenezer since staff members visited them to offer aid for the neediest families. They’ve been so touched by the fact that our people are always willing to visit a remote village to give a pair of winter shoes to one Jewish child.

The charity leaders also told the families we would provide aid for them and help to make aliyah! We are greatly encouraged as we see the fruits of these projects. Families have gone to Israel because their hearts have been opened to the message of aliyah by the aid we provided. Some didn’t know they had the right to make aliyah.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your faithful support and prayers which makes this work possible.

Repeatedly we heard this and similar expressions of gratitude from Holocaust survivors:

‘Thank you that you came and that you have not forgotten us!’

Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.”

Our two teams visiting the Kiev area from Germany said: ‘We are very deeply moved through what we saw. Up to this time we could not imagine the inhuman treatment the Holocaust survivors suffered. Yet we were surprised by the warm welcome we received from every person and group we visited – they were delighted to meet with us. Everybody we asked to forgive the guilt of our ancestors gladly did so. We were delighted to see how people received the food parcels with joy and thankful hearts. This trip has touched our lives in a very profound way and taught us to pray more for these people.’

I went with Eberhard and Slava, leader of the humanitarian aid work in Ukraine, to the Vinnitsa area. Eberhard shares: ‘To meet these Holocaust survivors was for me a continuation of an experience I had in Israel. It is great to be able to bless and help these people.’

Even when we visited mass graves and the site of a concentration camp no bitterness or unforgiveness was shown towards us. We know that we can’t change the past, but we can offer a sign for the present and the future by helping Jewish people return to Israel. In one city at the border with Moldova the Jewish community has erected a very interesting memorial. It shows two Christians protecting a young Jewish girl. Are we prepared and willing to stand up today for the cause of Israel?
